Target Audience

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Explain the predictors of stent thrombosis
- Understand differences between bare metal stents and drug eluting stents
- Discuss the appropriate role of antiplatelet
therapy and stents
- Describe the pharmacology of different antithrombotic drugs in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI)
- Review current clinical trials regarding antiplatelet therapy
- Utilize current guidelines for use of antithrombotic
therapy in PCI.
