Target Audience

This activity is designed for nurse practitioners and physician assistants.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Implement methods, such as tracking patient history, to identify preclinical nonmotor features of Parkinson’s Disease (PD) and facilitate early treatment
  • Identify the benefits and limitations of PD medications relevant to their use in different stages of the disease and in conjunction with medications for common comorbidities
  • Summarize current data regarding the impact of disease-modifying drugs on neuroprotection in PD management
  • Assist in monitoring patients with PD to promote medication adherence and optimize outcomes
