PLN Strategic Partnerships

Institute of Safe Medication Practices
Each year, Pharmacy Learning Network (PLN) partners with the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) to incorporate practice-based education into the overall curriculum, covering topics such as preventing medication errors and the impact of REMS on health-system pharmacists.

Pharmacy Quality Alliance
In 2012, Pharmacy Learning Network will partner with the Pharmacy Quality Alliance (PQA) to measure outcomes and systems-change in areas where they have quality measures. The mission of PQA is to improve the quality of medication use across health care settings through a collaborative process in which key stakeholders agree on a strategy for measuring and reporting performance information related to medications.

Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists
Pharmacy Learning Network and the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP) collaborate on infectious diseases (ID)-related programming, with SIDP providing expertise and faculty guidance. SIDP endorses PLN ID-related programming with their logo and promotes the live and enduring educational offerings to their growing membership.

USF Health
Launching in 2012, USF Health and Pharmacy Learning Network will joint sponsor PLN Oncology programming to address this rapidly evolving field. USF Health is an academic center of excellence, with particular expertise in oncology, and multi-accredited Office of Continuing Professional Development. Located on the USF Tampa campus, the Moffitt Cancer Center is a leader in cancer research and treatment and was recently ranked by US News as one of the top 20 Hospitals for cancer care (making it in the top 1% of US hospitals with a cancer center).

VHA
In 2011 and 2012, PLN and VHA will collaborate as accredited partners to broaden the reach of the Pharmacy Learning Network Conference Series to 1400+ VHA member hospitals through VHAtv – an innovative simulcast solution streaming the live education to each institution.
